We have learned with deep sorrow that according to initial reports at least 50 people lost their lives and more than a hundred people were injured as a result of a suicide attack perpetrated against the Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park in Lahore, the capital of Pakistan's Punjab province yesterday (27 March).

We condemn this heinous terrorist act which targets the peace, stability and well-being of Pakistan in the strongest terms; we wish God’s mercy upon those who lost their lives, hope for a speedy recovery for those injured and extend our condolences to the Government and brotherly people of Pakistan.

On this occasion, we express once again our strong feelings of solidarity with the brotherly people of Pakistan and our support to the Government of Pakistan in its fight against terrorism.
