We have learned with great sorrow that a suicide attack with two bomb-laden vehicles was carried out against the African Union Mission base in Somalia (AMISOM) near Mogadishu Airport this morning (July 26), and nearly 10 people including AMISOM soldiers lost their lives according to initial reports.

We strongly condemn and denounce thisterrorist attack against the international task force that devotedly works to ensure security and stability in the country.

We wish God’s mercy upon those who lost their lives and extend our condolences to their families.

Turkey will resolutely continue its effortsto help establishing peace, stability and prosperity in Somalia, and supporting international efforts to this end.
